In a recent daily prompt, they want us to discuss something addicting.
Coffee is my thing.
As in, I’m typing this and extremely irritated (total FWP) that I am out of cream. I don’t do straight coffee. I don’t do caramel-macchiatto-extra-whip-ice-cream-in-disguise drinks either. Espresso is fine, just not my thing in general. (I will have a Pumpkin Spice Latte once every fall though. It really is like drinking a pumpkin pie….yum!) Over the course of the last year and a half, I’ve learned a thing about coffee from my sister and brother-in-law who are coffee roasters.
There are many ways to “do coffee”. Pour over, french press, good ‘ol coffee maker, Keurig, Gevalia, etc. I like my Keurig for many things. Not especially for coffee. I like my own freshly ground french press with half and half. No sugar, no flavors. Just coffee with cream. I love the way it warms my face as the cup tips to my lips. I love the smell of coffee in the morning. I love to drink it out of my happy mugs. I really love the whole ritual. Here’s what I do:
That frothy foam is my favorite!
And, yum.
Am I an addict? Well, I just spent a half an hour writing this post about drinking coffee and the way I like it. I’ll leave that determination up to you.
Cheers!
French press is also my fave! With skim or cream :).
