Life and Other Stuff

At night while he sleeps I tiptoe and creep

Around in my mind my thoughts they race

a blur, so fast I can’t keep their pace

I grab at one to think it through

and off there it goes as another becomes new.

Work, our life, the future and God

are the many things that race – isn’t that odd?

I try and try – please let me rest

these thoughts they do not leave

they only persist

Until at last sweet relief it brings

rest o my mind, slumber and dreams.
